Today as on 13th of October, 2009 the YOUTH PARLIAMENT of J&K supported by Climate Change Council (C3) organized the Cycle Rally under the title (Stop Climate Change) in collaboration with Riding Rebels Cycling Club, Srinagar from Lal Chowk to Nishat in order to spread awareness about CLIMATE CHANGE and also to enables youth of Kashmir valley to come on a common platform and share their views, express their ideas and discuss issues of their respective concern so that it will help us in building an activated society.
The team of 20 young cyclists had participated in the event from Clock Tower, Lal Chowk to Nishat to highlight the role of youth in environmental conservation and raised awareness about various other issues like Climate Change and its impact in J&K, growing vehicular pollution, loss of wildlife habitat, vanishing Dal Lake, dying Hangul (Kashmiri Stag), shrinking wetlands and many other issues as well.
The “Cycling for Clean Climate” was open to all levels of cycling fans. The 20 young cyclists left Lal Chowk at 10:00 AM in morning, cycling through the city via Gupkar Road to SKICC and then finally concluded at Nishat.

This is an amazing opportunity to make a real difference by making your voice heard at the crucial climate change talks in SKICC and at the same time raising awareness to the common masses through youth initiatives' said Nadeem Qadri, Chief Coordinator, “Cycling for Clean Climate” and Founder President, YPJK
